Why is Bikeability Scotland training important?
The Scottish Parliament has stated that “Every school child should have the opportunity to benefit from cycle training.”
Bikeability Scotland offers a comprehensive training programme for children that covers everything from pre-ride safety checks and road signals to hazard awareness and road positioning.
For children, the benefits of Bikeability Scotland can include:
- Improving their hazard awareness
- Improving the confidence of both pupils and their parents, to cycle more after training
- Promoting active lifestyles, with children more likely to cycle after training.
