Fully funded on-cycle training for drivers of large vehicles.
Driver CPC (on-cycle)
Road User Awareness Training helps reduce work related road risk. By providing an opportunity to step into the shoes of more vulnerable road users, including people on bikes, the training gives drivers’ a greater understanding of their needs. This training is accredited Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) for Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) and Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) drivers.
The course content has been developed with input from a variety of road safety professionals and learning outcomes are fully aligned with the requirements of Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS). It focuses on the risks faced by people walking, wheeling and cycling, and the responsibilities of people driving as defined by The Highway Code.
Cycling Scotland supports hundreds of LGV and PCV drivers, working in both commercial and public sectors, to undertake training every year. We are committed to sustainable delivery in settings familiar to participants, and work with partners to achieve this.
