What data do we share?
Cycling Scotland shares both our own data and partner data with a wide range of stakeholders.
Counter and traffic survey data, collected through Cycling Scotland’s National Monitoring Framework, is uploaded to the Cycling Open data portal and shared through direct contact with relevant local authorities, Regional Transport Partnerships and Transport Scotland.
Cycling Scotland has facilitated counter data, produced by local authorities and active travel partners, to be uploaded to the Cycling Open Data portal in real time. Other relevant cycling data produced by partners, including Transport Scotland (Transport and Travel in Scotland & Reported Road Casualties Scotland) and Walk Wheel Cycle Trust (Hands Up Scotland Survey) is shared through the Annual Cycling Monitoring Report.
Why do we share data?
We share data to support research, policy and decision making at all levels.
From community groups to local authority transport planners, from academic researchers to urban designers, high quality data can be used to support evidence-based choices and helps build the case for further investment in cycling and cycle infrastructure.
