You can submit your nominations for the 2026 Cycling Champion of the Year Award.
The public nomination process for the 2025 Cycling Champion of the Year Award is now open.
The award, now in its tenth year, recognises an individual who has made a significant impact on cycling strategy, development or delivery at a local, regional or national level, bringing the environmental, health and social benefits of travelling by bike to more people.
The award is presented by Cycling Scotland, Cycling UK, Scottish Cycling and the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, and a panel representing the four partner organisations will select the winner.
You’re welcome to submit multiple nominations and the panel will use the quality of the nomination, rather than the quantity, to inform its decision, with the winner to be announced in autumn 2026.
In 2025, the Cycling Champion of the Year Award was presented to Katherine Cory, cycling campaigner and co-organiser of Shawlands Bike Bus, and Phil Noble, former Strategy and Development Manager for Active Travel at City of Edinburgh Council, in recognition of their efforts to support positive change and break down barriers to cycling.
In previous years, the award has celebrated the personal impact of campaigners, community leaders, inspirational young people, elected members and innovators who’ve changed the cycling landscape in Scotland.
Submit your nomination by midday, 22nd June 2026.
