Road User Awareness Training - Fleet driver

Led by expert facilitators, these workshops can be delivered at your workplace to any staff who drive for work or claim business mileage.

Workshops last an hour, and suit groups of up to 30 people. A classroom environment, with access to projector and audio-visual technology is recommended. The training can also be delivered online for staff working in remote locations – access to MS Teams, or similar, would be a requirement for all participating staff.

We can also deliver orientation to develop your own staff as instructors to deliver course materials and outcomes across your organisation.

For most workers, and other road users, driving is the most hazardous activity they will be involved in at work. Managing work-related road risk is a key aspect of health and safety for all organisations, whether managing an organisational or grey fleet.

External evaluation carried out by Professor Guy Walker of Heriot Watt University found significant and sustained improvement in driver attitudes as a result of training.

Road User Awareness Training actively contributes to reducing work-related road risk, improving safety for all road users and enhancing your organisation’s reputation.

With funding from Transport Scotland, Cycling Scotland can provide up to three fully funded classes to your staff. We can then work with your fleet managers to identify options for wider rollout.
