Pedal Ayr returns after a super debut in 2021
Building on the inaugural event, Pedal Ayr returns on Sunday 28 August 2022 and will showcase elements of the National and Local Cycle Networks in South Ayrshire. The route is designed with first-time/infrequent cyclists, families with younger children, and adapted bike users in mind.
Delivered by South Ayrshire Council’s Active Schools Team, supported by Cycling Scotland, Pedal Ayr is aimed at introducing more people to cycling and encouraging everyday trips by bike, using existing cycle infrastructure.
Entry to Pedal Ayr is free, and you can learn more about the event and register to participate via the Pedal for Scotland website.
Brand new for 2022: Pedal Glasgow G3
The following weekend, Pedal for Scotland heads to the big city for Pedal Glasgow G3 on Saturday 3 September 2022. A brand-new event for 2022, Pedal Glasgow G3 features a relaxed route that will take riders on a tour of local cycle routes near the River Clyde and past many iconic Glasgow landmarks.
Organisers The Pyramid – a community anchor group in Anderston – are working with local cycling charities to offer those without access to a bike, one to ride on the day. This will include accessible bikes and deliver on the overarching aim of Pedal for Scotland rides being inclusive.
Running between The Pyramid and Glasgow Science Centre, Pedal Glasgow G3’s route is sure to be a hit with participants who are yet to cycle the city’s famous riverside.
Find out more about Pedal Glasgow G3 and how to complete your free entry via the Pedal for Scotland website.
