Cycling Scotland has published our annual report for 2025-26, detailing the range of projects we have worked on, with support from funders and partners, to help more people to cycle.

Highlights from the past year include:
- A record percentage of primary schools (64%) delivered Level 2 on-road Bikeability Scotland cycle training.
- More than 12,500 nursery-aged children started their cycling journey through Play on Pedals sessions, with more than 300 Play on Pedals instructors trained.
- 3,500 adults accessed practical cycle training, as riders, instructors and leaders.
- 550 drivers of Large Goods Vehicles (LGV), Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCV) and vans, working in the commercial and public sector, took part in Road User Awareness Training, to help them drive safely around people on bikes.
- We monitored cycling increases across Scotland, with our September 2025 traffic survey recording more bikes than cars at morning and evening rush hours on the landmark South City Way cycle route in Glasgow.
- With funding from the Scottish Government's People and Place programme, delivered by SPT, we supported an award-winning pilot bike reuse project to repair and distribute more than 500 discarded bikes to local communities in and around Glasgow.
- We supported partnership projects installing and improving cycle parking and storage units for social housing providers, workplaces and schools, benefitting more than 19,000 people.
- We supported Regional Transport Partnerships through People and Place programmes to engage and support 144 organisations in achieving the Cycling Friendly award.
- Transport, Planning & Engineering delivered five construction projects in 2025-26, including rural active travel and urban design projects to help more people enjoy cycling and walking.
