Our national cycling conference will explore the theme: “Investment in everyday cycling delivers results” 

 

Morning session

Join us from 9.30am for coffee, a chance to connect with contacts, and network in our exhibition hall.

  • Chair welcome – Laura Young, award-winning climate activist and environmental scientist
  • An introduction to Dundee’s cycling ambitions – Mark Flynn, Leader of Dundee City Council
  • Ministerial address – Fiona Hyslop MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Transport
  • Keynote speaker: Jillian Evans – Head of Health Intelligence & Learning Health Systems, NHS Grampian
  • Keynote speaker: Rebecca Morris, Vision Zero Communications
  • Keynote speaker: Glenn Lyons, Professor of Future Mobility at University of West of England

Lunch, exhibition hall & networking

We’ll be serving a vegetarian lunch, with opportunities to connect and network with other delegates.

Our exhibition hall showcases organisations from the public and private sectors as well as charities and voluntary groups.

Dundee Cycle Hub will be on-site with their Dr Bike service – bring your bike along to get a free health check.  

Afternoon session

  • Breakout sessions exploring:
    - Local authorities supporting everyday cycling – building networks of safe cycle lanes
    - Cycle training – supporting greater road safety awareness for all
    - Facilitated networking discussing effective investment, local voices in active travel, the value of communicating success and road safety
    - Walking and cycling study tours with Dundee City Council, exploring improvements to the waterfront to support active travel 
  • Young people’s voices – hearing views from Tayview Primary School pupils about their experience of cycling and taking part in Bikeability Scotland cycle training
  • Keynote speaker – Brian Deegan, Director of Inspections at Active Travel England
